This was the first Q in my Official mock exam 3 and took 8 minutes and I still screwed it up because while I eliminated option A to D, I couldn't believe that as a compromise option E is correct

Option E says that the vending machines are adapting their machines so that the electronic cards can be used for purchases. why can I not assume that they too will have some form of photo recognition. Why do I have to reduce the scope and assume that the adapting of the machines will only be limited to usage of cards and billing to parents and not ensuring that the credibility/authenticity is maintained?

I have submitted my application today. When I can expect the KIRA Assessment email? How long after submitting the form do they send the Kira Assessment links?

Alternatively, a simpler approach would be to realise that 2 consecutive odd numbers are co-primes. And the numerator is actually the sum of the two numbers.
Considering the numbers as x and x+2, we have x+x+2 = 12 => x= 5 and x+2 = 7

6x^2 - 23x - 35 = 0

(6x + 7)(x - 5) = 0

I've always struggled with finding the zeroes when the coefficient is > 1 for the x^2 figure. Can anyone explain how you go from the 1st line to the second line?
did you find a way to solve equations like these? they stump me too

If 3 is one of the roots of x^2 - 5x +2k = 13, what is the product of the two roots of the equation?

(A) -12
(B) -6
(C) 5
(D) 6
(E) 12

x^2 - 5x +2k = 13 => x^2 - 5x +2k - 13 = 0
The expression we want to factorise is: y = x^2 - 5x + (2k - 13)
Since this has a root 3, (x - 3) is a factor.
If the other root be r, the factor would be (x - r)
=> y = x^2 - 5x + (2k - 13) = (x - 3)(x - r) ... this is true for all values of x
=> x^2 - 5x + (2k - 13) = x^2 - x(r + 3) + 3r

Comparing the coefficient of x on both sides: -5 = -(r + 3) => r = 2
=> Product of roots = 3 * 2 = 6 Answer D

Point to note: For y = ax^2 + bx + c: Sum of roots = -b/a and Product of roots = c/a

Hello,

I have my ISB PGP interview scheduled for 19th January. With around 2.7 years of experience in Data Analytics and Software Development, I aim to pivot to Product Management. If anyone with similar work experience and career goals has already appeared for the interview this year, could you please share the questions you were asked and the key focus areas?

Hi all, I wish to apply for R3 of ISB PGP this year and would love to get some advice and guidance from alums/folks who have successfully navigated the ISB applications. Any and all relevant advice with regards to the application/essays will be appreciated!

A lil bit about myself;

I am 24F residing in India.
GMAT FE Score: 735 (100 percentile)
Edu: BBA in Informations Systems & Operations Management from HKUST (Hong Kong)
Graduation CGA: 3.107 (78% out of 100%)
12th CBSE: 89%
10th CBSE: 9.8 CGPA
Work Ex: 4 years of Work Experience in Product/Project Management and Management Consulting.
Work Locations: HK and India
Extra-curricular: Multiple Leadership positions during university, High involvement in Sustainability related initiatives and programmes.

What do my chances of selection look like based on the kind of profiles admitted? Any advice to help navigate the next 2 weeks till R3 deadline will be appreciated. Thanks!
Hi sgargab , I hope all is well! Your profile positions you as a competitive candidate for ISB R3, with strengths like an outstanding 735 GMAT score (100th percentile), 4 years of diverse work experience in product/project management and consulting across Hong Kong and India, and leadership roles in sustainability initiatives. While your GPA of 3.107/78% is slightly below the ISB average, it can be offset by emphasizing your academic rigor, global exposure, and professional impact in your application. To stand out in the highly competitive R3, focus on crafting compelling essays that highlight your unique experiences, career goals, and leadership potential. Secure strong LORs, quantify the impact of your extracurricular contributions, and align your aspirations with ISBs offerings. With a well-prepared application you can have strong potential to succeed. All the very best. You can take a look at this blog.

I dont quite agree with the solution. How do we know that there are only red and electric cars at the factory? Couldn't it be true that there are blue cars?

Blue cars fall into Neither category.
