Hello GMAT club,
I am brand new to this GMAT thing and just created my account today to post and gain some insight from you guys. I have been out of school for a couple years and working professionally, however I am planning to attend business school in 2020 so I am preparing for the applications that are due by the end of September 2019. I have purchased the OG and started going through the diagnostic test in the beginning of the book, which was very discouraging. I received scores on the quant PS + DS which equated to below average using the diagnostic test scores. On the Verbal part of the diagnostic I am average in RC + CR and below average in SC. I read not to look too much into these diagnostic questions in the OG as they are usually pretty difficult. I was going through some of the explanations for the diagnostic questions and they seemed very convoluted to me and I thought I was wasting my time.
I am trying to achieve a score of 550 only, but if I do better than that that is obviously great. I am wondering what the best possible study plan for 3 months would be if my target score is only 550. I need to brush up in everything in Quant clearly, so I am wondering what the best material to use for this would be if my target score is only 550. I really don't see the need in studying questions at a high level and only really want to learn the foundational concepts of quant. I have always been pretty decent with math throughout schooling so I feel like it won't be that difficult to relearn some of the concepts and make them stick. I am also a native English speaker and feel that I don't need to concentrate too much on Verbal, just reading high level publications and learning some grammar concepts for the sentence correction. I looked into the Magoosh premium subscription, but not sure if I want to shell out the $250. Is the official guide sufficient enough for a 550 on the GMAT? I also have the Manhattan Quant book if that matters.
Please if you have any insight on what/how/how long to study for the 550 it would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
