Even with the proposed tax increase, the average tax rate on those state residents earning more than $300,000 a year would remain lower than the tax rate on those earning this same income in neighboring state

why this can not be accepted as logic . It seems fair enough.

Thanks

A. -12
B. -10
C. -9
D. -6
E. -1

hi..

\((R^c)(R^d)(R^e) = R^{(-12)}.............R^{c+d+e}=R^{(-12)}\)..
equating the powers
c+d+e=-12....
All three are different and negative integers
so for c to be smallest, d and e have to be MAX possible..
so let d = -1 and e=-2..
so \(c+d+e=-12.......c-1-2=-12.....c=-12+3=-9\)

Interviewed with the Alum an hour ago. The interview was pretty straight forward and interactive. The Alum started with introducing himself and talking about his time at Ross. Then he switched over to my experiences and asked me to tell about myself. Then the usual interview: why MBA, what goals, why Ross, a couple of behavioural questions on leadership experience and then questions for him. The interview lasted about 45 minutes. Call it interaction rather than interview. The Aum was very nice and calming. No curve balls thrown my way.

Re: Largest possible value of exponent of prime number

I solved this question in the following way:

Step 1: find the largest possible value of n! by calculating how many "3" are presented in n!
Because greatest integer k for which 3^k is a factor of n! is 8. => 3,6,9,12,15,18 are presented in n!
Since we want to find the largest possible value of n! => we can increase the value of n as long as we dont add any more "3" =>n! = 20!

Step 2: find the largest p by calculating how may "5" are presented in 20!
We have 5,10,15,20 are presented in 20! and give us four "5" => p = 4

Hence, the answer is C.

I think behavioural questions are pretty standard MBA admission interview questions. I think all interviews no matter which school will have 2-3 questions like that at least.

It seemed that at least a few had their interviews with Yale already. Can someone share your experiences pls?

remember the following rules..
1) A NEGATIVE integer should be put to EVEN power to get a positive value out of it if there is only one negative value..
2) put any fraction<1 in the DENOMINATOR to get the max value out of it

so in \(x*\frac{z^2}{y}\) , put z as -3 , y as 1/2 and x as the remaining value 2..
\(x*\frac{z^2}{y}..........2*(-3)^2/(1/2)=2*9*2=36\)

Should be E. Each equattion is insuff.

Combining two 3x = 2y^2

Here, if we take y=1, -1 we get diffrent results.

If the cost of the chair was 50$ originally and the chair was sold at 108 percent of the cost,
it must have been sold at \(1.08*50 = 54\)$

If the chair was sold at a 10% discount, the price will be \(0.9*54 = 48.60\)$ (Option B)

the two-digit number whose first digit is a and whose second digit is b ? The number is greater than 9.
this tells us that a>0

lets see the statements

(1) 2a + 3b = 11a + 2b

\(11a-2a=3b-2b.........9a=b\)
for b to be a digit a can take ONLY one value 1, otherwise b will become 2-digit number
so a=1, b = 9a=9
number = 19

it can be 19,38 etc
