Does Tuck usually tend to invite most of the applicants (over 70-80%) for the invite-only interviews that they send out like Kellogg or is it a bit more selective?

I've heard mixed things from other people, so wanted to check in here.

Same here ;(.. also dropped a mail to interviewer (Nirav) yesterday with no response yet; a bit worried as supposedly the coming Monday is the last interview day proposed by interviewer..

I'm happy that I found this thread. I gave my interview on 23rd feb, and havent heard back from the Adcom yet. (Indian Male 29 Y, Construction Background)

Looking at the trend:
1st March - Admit decisions
3rd March - Waitlists

I just hope that there a few more admits left for this round and that they dont send out rejection letters yet.

If there aren't anymore admits left we all would have been put on waitlist for sure on 3rd March. we will know for sure on 8th.

Looks like Broad is your top choice Nihar. What other colleges are you hopeful or got admits?

No Broad is not my first choice. My first choice is Darden, I am hopeful about UVA we will see. I am stressed about Broad because I got into ISB and I have to make a huge deposit by 16th March. I don't feel like turning that down without any admit from US. I am waiting on 3 other schools including UVA after interview.

Re: Ms. Edmonds does not like to see children gossiping about each other

OFFICIAL EXPLANATION

Ms. Edmonds does not like to see children gossiping about each other on the school grounds. Yesterday, when she overheard Tom gossiping about Jack behind his back, she asked Tom to come over and explained the harm that gossip can cause. Today Ms. Edmonds overheard Dorothy gossiping about Amy behind her back.

Which of the following conclusions is most strongly supported by the information above?

A. Ms. Edmonds is likely to expel Dorothy from school for a day.

Incorrect.

This is an Inference Question, so it is made up of premises only; you need to find a conclusion stemming from those premises, or in other words, to take one small step forward and draw a conclusion:

Premise A: Ms. Edmonds does not want children to gossip.
    +
Premise B: Yesterday, when she heard Tom gossip about Jack, Ms. Edmonds explained to Tom why gossip is bad.
    +
Premise C: Today, Ms. Edmonds heard Dorothy gossip about Amy.
    =
    Conclusion: ?

Since we know Ms. Edmonds chose to talk to Tom (Premise B), rather than expel him for a day, it would be incorrect to infer that Ms. Edmonds is likely to treat Dorothy in such a different manner.

B. Ms. Edmonds will probably keep her thoughts on the subject to herself.

Judging by past experience, Ms. Edmonds is not the type to keep her thoughts on gossiping to herself. Your inference should be a small step forward beyond the premises, not a step in the opposite direction.

C. Dorothy is likely to burst into tears as a result of a severe reprimand from Ms. Edmonds.

Incorrect.

We have no idea what Dorothy is likely to do, as the premises tell us nothing on the subject. The inference you make must be based on the premises.

D. Ms. Edmonds may call Dorothy over and explain the harm that gossip can cause.

If Ms. Edmonds doesn't care for gossip (Premise A) and upon hearing it yesterday intervened by way of explanation (Premise B), it makes sense to infer that she may act the same way today, when faced with a similar incident (Premise C).

E. Amy is not likely to forgive Dorothy for quite a while.

This answer choice goes beyond the scope of the question. We haven't a clue what the future holds for Amy and Dorothy, and so cannot infer about it.

(A) it is nonetheless a volatile creature

(B) it is nonetheless volatile creatures

(C) being nonetheless volatile creatures

(D) they are nonetheless a volatile creature

(E) they are nonetheless volatile creatures

OFFICIAL EXPLANTION

E

This is a pronoun agreement question. The subject of the sentence is tapirs; therefore, the pronoun that refers to the subject must be plural. The answer, therefore, must be D or E. Choice D contains a new pronoun agreement error, because they is plural and a volatile creature is singular. Choice C has no pronoun at all. The best answer is E.

In this sentence, I was not aware of the meaning of the word ousting/ouster. So I was not sure whether it was a separate element in the list or part of interethnic conflicts. I thought that it was part of interethnic conflicts similar to expansion of democracy and political freedom and went with option A. As I am not a native speaker, what should be my corrective action for future?

Explanation

3. If the implications suggested by the passage are correct, and if the average number and value of homes sold over the next five years remain approximately the same as in 2011, which of the following can be properly inferred about the real estate business in five years?

Explanation

The passage discusses the potential impact of the internet on the real estate business, specifically in relation to the standard 6 percent commission charged by agents in the sale of residential and commercial property. The passage suggests that the control of information by agents is the most important service they provide, but the internet is loosening their control over this information. Consumers can now access information on home prices and listings that was previously only available to licensed agents. As a result, some agents are willing to accept lower commissions, and there are now internet services that allow homeowners to list their homes on the MLS for a fraction of the cost of a commission to an agent.

Based on this information, it can be inferred that the total commissions earned by real estate agents and brokers may be less than $100 billion in five years, as more consumers choose to sell their homes without using traditional agents. Therefore, the correct answer is C.

Option A is incorrect because there is evidence to suggest that commissions may decrease, not increase, in the future.

Option B is incorrect because the passage suggests that some agents are willing to accept a flat fee, but not all agents will necessarily do so.

Option D is incorrect because the passage specifically states that the internet is an important means of deriving information about the real estate market.

Option E is irrelevant to the information presented in the passage.

Answer: C
