I chose E. I think the way to tackle some of these is to ask a few quick questions and see which ones make sense.
professor wanted to deny what? Not the group (us) but their action (continuing). Option E gives that correct form by saying " deny our continuing" .
can think of small examples to get the idea -
" He does not hate me. He hates my talking"
"We like their singing"
