Dear Jon,

Thanks so much for the fantastic advice. If you can imagine, not many people around me know much if anything about this process so any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Luckily, now that I know, I have time to focus on clarifying my goals and making this a stronger part of my application. Also thanks so much for the idea of schools I should be aiming for. Not having a lot of knowledge of the process I really didn't know what schools I would have a shot at with my background. Thanks so much again for all your help!

Annette

Glad to be of help. Also if you want a general rule of thumb that is very very rough for evaluating your chances, normally you want to aim for schools which have an average GMAT near yours. So start there. You may want to "Devalue" your score by 20 points or so to give a more accurate reflection given your lack of business experience, and those schools will be your "sweet spot" where you will be competitive, and then you can build a strategy by applying to 2-3 of those, 2-3 tougher schools, and 1-2 easier ones. Anyhow, now is a good as time as any for you to go start reading those MBA brochures and making up your first short list. Good luck with it all!
