Kaplan scores are generally lower than the actual GMAT score.

I do not have acess to the Kaplan new GMAT premier 2013 test, so I cannot be sure of this for their latest tests.
But historically Kaplan's scores underestimate your level.
And yes, they are adaptive
My advise is: take those test just for the questions. Use GMATPrep as score estimator only
