Hi, doublewhammy that's hard to say, I'm not 100% sure. I think probably yes, you should deduct it, but you might check with the schools you are targeting. Yes, you will probably need to disclose your leave in the application - often there is a question about employment gaps; if not, you can use the optional essay or additional information section on the application to disclose the situation to most schools.
