Hi all,
I am planning on taking my GMAT-test in the beginning of next January. Thus, I have quite a lot of time for preparation. I am working on my first MSc in International Business and currently also working on my thesis. This means that I have to split my time between my thesis and my GMAT preparations. From September forward I will be working 1-2 days a week.

My plan is to aim for approx. 300 study hours, leading to approx. 60 study hours a month. However, I would like to hear your take on this. I am wondering if the fact that I am dividing my studies over such a"long" time period would require me to actually put more effort per week into my GMAT preparations? Should I aim for more study hours in total? I am taking my first mock test today and I guess that will give some implication of how much work I need to put in. I will let you know how it goes.

Rather than planning the number of hrs, split the topics. Say, I will cover these 2 topics in this week and then these two the next week. Also, try to go into as much detail as possible on the topics and practice as many questions as you can. Take about 2-3 months to thoroughly review every topic. Then take a couple of mocks and figure out the weak areas. Re-do those topics and then take a couple of mocks again and so on...
