Hey chaitravijendra!

UIUC and Northwestern University, both are pretty good colleges so obviously the choice becomes hard.

With Respect to the brand, Northwestern has a stronger presence overall, however UIUC has a stronger foothold for engineering specializations.

Ill give you an analysis of both schools, based on which you can make an informed decision.

Northwestern University- Northwestern University allows you to gain easy access to Chicagos STEM industries via internships and job opportunities. If you network and perform well, landing up with a job wont be difficult there. The classroom size is 20-30 students so you dont need to worry about personal attention. Also, Northwestern University is ranked #9 on the University ranking list.

UIUC- 97% of Graduates of UIUCs MSTM course get placed within 6 months of graduation. If we talk about ROI, MSTM graduates can get an immediate return on investment, considering the alumni receive, on average, compensation packages of $65,000+ and the tuition fee is nearly half of the average compensation package.

Also, the program at UIUC is customizable, which is an option that you wont get at NWU.

In my opinion, UIUC is a better investment if you want a quick ROI and if you do not have financial constraints then Northwestern is an equally good option.

Hope this helped!
