I am planning to apply to ISB in round three. Have taken the GMAT and my scores are as follows:
Overall: 710 | Verbal: 38 | Quant: 39 | IR:8 | AWA: Awaiting Results
My academic scores are as follows:
Secondary Schooling (ICSE): 94.6%
Higher Secondary (ICSE): 93%
B.Tech(SRM University - Software Engineering): 9.21/10 CGPA
WORK EXPERIENCE:
I graduated in 2014 and since then I have bee working in the field of analytics. I started off as a Trainee Decision Scientist at Mu Sigma where I worked for 1.2 years. Post which I joined a leading Marketing Intelligence company as a Senior Business Analyst. In the past 3.5 years, I have grown from a Senior Business Analyst to Manager - Analytics and look after accounts which are worth 16M Dollars to the organization in revenue and managing 6 people directly. I have excellent domain understanding of advertising - especially digital and am very proficient in Machine Learning and Analytics.
I have taken several initiatives in the company to improve taskforce management, resource management, training, retention and career progression. I was awarded the Best Performer at the organizations' annual awards. I was also selected for the Future Leaders Program which selects 22 individual all over the world and provides leadership training to them. I am the youngest manager in my company.
Extra Curricular:
At my college, I have been the House Vice-Captain and have won several trophies(Gold, Silver Bronze) for Intra and Inter-University dance competitions(solo and group). I have represented my college at National Level Dance competitions as well. I was the Chairman of the Software Engineering association as well.
My organization hosts a corporate Olympics every year and I have won 6 medals (3 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze) across events such as Carrom, Cricket, Football and Online Gaming.
Why MBA:
I have grown rather quickly in the roles that I have been and being in a demanding industry such as Marketing Analytics it important to keep up with the knowledge. Most of the knowledge(marketing and management) that I have acquired has been mostly driven by intuition and through some resources from the internet. On reading about the course at ISB I realized that courses such as "MARKETING MANAGEMENT", "MANAGERIAL ECONOMICS", "COMPETITIVE STRATEGY", "MARKETING DECISION MAKING" etc. would help me immensely to build my core knowledge base allowing me to leverage my application-focused mindset. The diversity at ISB would also allow me to learn from peers and industry leaders and gain valuable experience. In the short term, I wish to grow in the Advertising Industry as a thought leader who brings technology, analytics and domain knowledge to the table and applied it to a business problem in the most effective manner. In the long term, I might want to have my own advertising firm where we can help a multitude of clients grow.
