Your GMAT score is good. Though your GPA is low, you might be able to save yourself as you have fared well on other aspects of your application like your work experience and GMAT.
You seem to have a clear focus on your career path, especially as you have 5 years experience in the petrochemical sector, and you want to go into strategy consulting with emphasis on energy sector.

Coming back to your work experience, I personally think it is really impressive. It appears you have made decent impact on your employers. It is highly imperative that you shed positive light on the results achieved, and leadership skills in your application. This could be the star selling point of your application.

Your extracurricular activities are not that impressive. You said that you played football professionally; were you part some football club. What role did you play in the team, and were you able to win some wards which could be mentioned in the application essays?

As you have 2 years of International experience, you may apply to INSEAD, LBS and HEC. I would request you to aim high and apply to some of the top 10 business schools.

If you carefully draft your application, you would have good chance at your target business schools. If you are focused on a career in strategy consulting, I would recommend that you visit schools. Speak to current students and alumni of your target schools. Use LinkedIn if you cannot find contacts at those schools. Get your application reviewed, and re-reviewed by the alumni. It helps.

Good luck!
