Hi Linda,
Can you please share some deep real-life insights on how NY can be beneficial and will add value towards CBS MBA grads with RE focus both during MBA and post-MBA? And how NY is as far as RE industry is concerned because my post-MBA ST and LT goals are in RE...
All the information I've about NY, is mostly from Internet/Newspaper/Journals...and neither I've lived or worked in NY.So, I was thinking that you may share some solid practical information on the same to fill-up this void at least to some extent...
Look forward to hear from you.
P.S: Happy Independence day in advance!

I'll do my best to answer this, but I have never lived in NYC.
NYC is the financial capital of North America. It is one of the great financial centers of the world. Practical benefits of attending a school in NYC:
1) Some of the professors are business leaders.
2) The professors are consulting with the major business at many of their headquarters.
3) The opportunity for projects and experiential learning are unparallelled and relatively convenient.
4) CEOs and business leaders are readily available.
5) Travel is easy.
6) It is easier to network as a student and to find both internships and jobs in NYC simply because you are there. I'm not saying you can't find a job in NYC otherwise, but it is easier when you're there.
In addition, NYC is a tremendous cultural center. The opportunities in terms of museums, theater, and nightlife are incredible. And it's also highly cosmopolitan. There are people from all around the world in NYC.
Best,
Linda
