HI,
This is my first visit to this site, it seems to be very interesting and full of usefull information. Now that i have found this, i guess i will be disturbing you guys quite often, Thanks in advance for your understanding and helping.
I am 8 years exp Mechanical engineer from India, I have given GMAT once before in 2009 and got 530(Q43,V19).
Now i want to give it another shot. I have been preparing for about 3 months now.
I attended weekend classes near my location, Spent 3 hours everyday for studying.
I am consistency scoring 42/43 in quant and now improved verbal score to 28/30.
Quant: I completed OG10, 13, 700-800 series for PS and my class notes. DS - More practise is required.
Overall PS my accuracy level is 85%-90% in 650-700 level questions (OG level) and DS about 80-85%
Verbal: SC - ManH SC, Completed OG 10 (72% accuracy), OG 13(72% accuracy) & 700-800 series (75% accuracy after reading Manh SC)
CR - Powerscore CR, Completed OG 10 (83% accuracy), OG13 (79% accuracy)
RC - Yet to Start.
My Weaknesses -
My accuracy level varies depending on concentration levels. I am not able to sit and concentrate for more than 2 hours.
I am quite conversant in SC & CR rules and principles but when it comes to timed solving of problems i dont use them atleast conciously.
My accuracy andscore drops in exam condition.
- My Question:
1) What is your recommendation to best utilize the time i have, Well Score is important, time can extend.
2) Are the books iam using enough?
3) When should i start giving CAT tests? What should be my representative score to consider myself exam ready?
4) What proportion of time should i spend for PS/DS to Improve my score from 43/44 to 50? What are the right materials to use?
Thanks.
