Number of questions answered in the first hour = \frac{2}{5}. So remaining number of questions is \frac{3}{5}

Number of questions answered in the second hour = \frac{5}{17}*\frac{3}{5}=\frac{15}{85}

So, the number of questions answered in the first two hours = \frac{2}{5}+\frac{15}{85}=\frac{49}{85}

Number of questions remaining x=1-\frac{49}{85}=\frac{36}{85}

The total number of questions expressed as a fraction will be equal to 1 (or as a percentage, 100%).

Therefore the total number of questions expressed in terms of x should be \frac{85}{36}*x
