More and more schools are now accepting the GRE in lieu of the GMAT. GMAT, in my opinion, is still the preferred test of choice for the top U.S. MBA programs, but if you have scored low on the GMAT, you may find the GRE easier and it is just as accepted. I personally believe the quant is harder on the GMAT, and the verbal is harder on the GRE. If you're repeatedly scoring low on the GMAT, take the GRE.
