Honestly I'd have chosen INSEAD primarily because of the 1 year vs 2 year feature. I'm into management consulting for the last few years so when it comes to the fundamentals of management, I'm not sure how much of a value add a 2 year program can be. When we know what we precisely want from an MBA, I believe one year should be quite enough. Also HBS grooms future leaders for big organizations while I have seen INSEAD alums getting out and building things from scratch. HBS is primarily a US school with 65% intake coming from the US. INSEAD is more diverse and the footprint in EMEA and APAC appeals to me (I have been working in the US market the last few years).
I feel the same way about 2 years U.S school. I want to focus my future career in APAC and EMEA also. It is just a good fit. If I choose a 2 year program, I will be close to 30 by graduation. 30 is a sensitive age, and I do not want to start at the bottom from any place (yes, associate level at MC or IB is near bottom in my view). If I choose INSEAD, I will be 27 by graduation, I will have almost a 3 year head start then people who is the same age and still at H/S/W school. 3 years make a big different in someone career.
